Tuesday 22nd February ---by Ata-Hapara Davis

Today we were going to have some topic work .BUT “crash bang” an EARTHQUAKE.
“That was scary, ”I said.
Then the teacher said ,“Come on and go down to the big field and put your hand up when Mr Rees tell you to.”
After that we had to go back to our classroom and do our topic. Then Kian and Macy got scared and I got scared too.

When we just about to start our topic, we felt a shock. .Mrs Vincent said to get under our desks.
I looked at my chair and it was wriggling like mad.
Then Mrs Vincent said it was safe.
I thought it was a tsunami!

Today there was an earthquake. .We were just about to do topic. And then the EARTHQUAKE.!!1
Mrs Vincent said to get under the table.
Everyone was quiet.Some people weren’t because they were crying.-I DON’T LIKE EARTHQUAKES.

Today there was an EARTHQUAKE at school.
We were sitting on the mat and we were just about to do topic.
WOBBLE—IT WAS AN EARTHQUAKE!!
I was not that scared but I think Lily was scared.

Today we felt an Earthquake.We went under the table.
I was scared.
Then we got up and went to the Big Field. The whole school came down to the Big Field.
It really was a BIG EARTHQUAKE.
My big buddy said that his classroom was 15 years old and that it was made in 1996.
I WAS SCARED.

Today there was an earthquake when we were learning .But I didn’t feel it.
.Mrs Vincent said in a loud voice—“GET UNDER THE TABLE.”
As soon as I got under the table I was freaking out.
After the shock everyone went down to the Big Field. We had to stay there in our lines and Miss Culhane talked to us about earthquakes.
After this shock I was a little scared.

On Tuesday afternoon we were sitting on the mat starting to learn when---SHAKE RUMBLE CRASH. It was AN EARTHQUAKE!!!
Quickly we got under our desks.
Lily was crying ,so I helped Lily.
After that we went to the big field.
IT WAS CREEPY!

Today in the afternoon, there was an earthquake but I did not feel it.
First we got under our tables and then we went to the Big Field. Mrs Vincent told Mr Rees that everyone was here. We were there for about half an hour.
Lily was crying because she was scared and Jakib helped her.
I did not feel it.

Tuesday 22 nd February—Samuel Affleck

On Tuesday afternoon, there was an earthquake just before we were about to do topic.
When it started, Mrs Vincent shouted --“get under your desks”—which kind of gave me a fright!
When it was over we went to the big field and Miss Culhane and Mr Rees talked about the earthquake.
Then we came back—it felt awesome!

It was fun when we were under the table.
There were a lot of aftershocks.
After the earthquake we went down to the big field with Miss Culhane and Mr Rees.

Today we just sat on the mat --- WOBBLE---It was an earthquake.
At first I did not know that it was an earthquake.The whole class went under their tables.I never knew that there was going to be an earthquake.
Lily was crying and Olivia was patting her back.
We had to hold the tables.
IT WAS WEIRD.

Today there was an Earthquake.
Mrs Vincent said to get under our table.
It was cool.
Miss Culhane came into the classroom to see if we were alright.
It felt scary.It was a big one ---IT WAS SCARY.

Today in the afternoon we were just about to do some topic. Just then there was a SHAKE and a RATTLE!!
Then there was a RUMBLE!
Mrs Vincent said --“Get under the desk I think it is an earthquake.”
So we got up and went to our desks. We had to hold onto the desk legs.
After we had to go to the big field.
Miss Culhane has a long talk then we went back to class.
Me and Eve thought it was a shame that Lily was scared.

Yesterday there was an earthquake in Timaru.
It was small. I was at home.
Then Dad put me to bed for a nap.
I watched it at home with Mum and Dad.

IT WAS REALLY SCARY.

Today after lunch we were listening to the teacher when we had an Earthquake.
Mrs Vincent told us to get under the tables.

This afternoon Room 2 was just about to do some more learning when we felt an EARTHQUAKE.!!!
So Mrs Vincent shouted---“It is an EARTHQUAKE!!”
So we got under our desks and we had to hold onto the legs of the desks.
We moved with it whilst we were under the desk.
Lily got scared and started to cry and I bumped my head but I did not cry.
A couple of minutes later we had to go down to the big field. I had to lead the class.
We had to put our hand up and listen to Miss Culhane.
After we went back to the classroom.I didn’t feel it but I didn’t like it.














Tuesday 22 nd February—Macy Dobson

On Tuesday afternoon we were sitting on the mat when-----QUIVER!!! SHAKE!!!
IT WAS AN EARTHQUAKE!
“Get under a desk!” said Mrs Vincent, in a loud voice. That really freaked me out.
We got under our desks and Mrs Vincent got under the doorway.I JUST ABOUT CRIED.
It was quite a long quake.
Everyone got out from under their desks and we went to the big field. We all met down there.
Richie said—“What if you are in the Kiwi Can room?” I knew the answer to that which was to go down into a little ball and put your hands over your head.
Some of the kids did not feel it because they came down 5 minutes later.
After that we went back to the classroom all scared and crazy about the earthquake.
I was still shaking so I didn’t know if it was an earthquake or just me shaking, and then the bell rang.
I did not like the earthquake because it made me scared and everyone else was either crying or scared.

After lunch we were sitting on the mat when-----the doors were wobbling!!!----IT WAS AN EARTHQUAKE!!!
Mrs Vincent shouted to get under our desks and Mrs Vincent stood under the doorway.
Then when we were all safe we went down to the big field.I looked after Lily
I WAS SCARED!!!

It was nearly time to learn when the class started to shake.It quivered and shook and shook and SHOOK.
Mrs Vincent shouted “ EARTHQUAKE GET UNDER YOUR DESKS QUICKLY.”
I thought “oh no”—because Lily started to cry.
I started comforting her so did Jakib but he was under his desk and got out to comfort her.
Mrs Vincent went under the doorway.
I nearly started to cry instead I comforted Lily.
After the earthquake we went to the field and some people were late.
I think we were all scared because it was shaking really badly.

This afternoon we were going to learn about”brains” when an earthquake happened.
We had to get under a table.I was crying because I was really scared until the teacher told I had to go to her.We lined up and went to the big field.
IT WAS SCARY!

In the afternoon there was a big aftershock. Me and Shaydin were in the shed space and we came rushing in.
We got under a table and then we went to the big field and people kept saying that the ground was moving.
I needed to go to the toilet .
Lily was very scared but I thought it was fun.

Today during the afternoon we were going to do our brain maze then we felt the ground shaking.
Then Mrs Vincent said to get under our desks –there was an earthquake.
Everyone got under their desks and then it stopped but everyone stayed there.
There was an aftershock and we had to go to the big field for awhile.
We went back to class to do some work.

Today there was an earthquake .My desk was shaking.
Mrs Vincent stood in the doorway. Then we all got out from under our desks, lined up and went down to the big field.
We had a talk about what we do when there is an earthquake—to get under our desks and wait until the teacher told us to get out.
IT WAS FREAKY
My desk was shaking and our door and the whole building too.
We came back and now we are doing this writing.yes it was freaky because the school was shaking
